I'm planning to let my son play multiplayer with me, but only in party chat, and only with friends that I know well. The intense scenes could cause some nightmares for younger teens and I would really recommend turning the less-violent setting on. Probably, if you think they are old enough to handle it. If you aren't convinced by that, then you may want to take a pass, or wait for a full review of the game. If you're also a fan of sci-fi movies, or future-tech books, then definitely you'll like it. If you have a strong stomach (or opt out of the violence setting) and you're a fan of the other COD titles, then yes, I think you'll like it. I leveled up far enough the first night to see how it works, but I have not yet formed an opinion.

Like all previous titles, this is where most of the players will spend their time. Following in the steps of other Call of Duty titles, Black Ops 2 offers multiple types of game play. Most notable are weapons targeting systems that highlight enemies, millimeter scanning scopes that can see through walls and rocks, and autonomous drones. Weapons, at least for the future missions, have some high tech features. The overall feel of the game is similar to the first story, but at times feels oddly sci-fi. The same applies for multiplayer lobbies, though in my experience it is the younger players who are cussing and throwing insults the most. The f-bomb is dropped in almost every scene and the few scenes that omit it more than make it up with other words and sexual slurs. There are very few exchanges that don't include multiple profanities. Like violence and gore, the profanity level is pegged at maximum. It fits well in the story and is not gratuitous, but I feel they could have scaled the gore back a little. A knife is jabbed into the subject's hand and twisted, and he is later executed. I didn't feel that the torture scene is as disturbing as it was throughout the first story, but it was shocking.
